Game Camera Part 2

May 16 we had about 1/2" of rain. Took advantage of the wet driveways to compact the rock that had been laid down back in March. It was enough rain to get a little muddy. We headed for Santa Clara that afternoon. Maybe it was very early Tuesday morning we had the cat visit us at the pole barn.
I should have placed something for scale near them. They are about 3" across. The shadow are from the gas BBQ. this is just on the east side of the large BBQ. The tire ruts were from Chris Gatly and the PBCC trailer they brought in back in March.
I also found tracks in the road near the water tank. Now I am not sure about cause and effect but the group of 6 does that grazed in the meadow every morning have not been seen since the 16TH. I suspect the cat has moved on by now. With the proximity to the BBQ it has me wondering if the cat  is partial to the Santa Maria style tri tip BBQ.  ACTS group had cooked some on 5-14. The aroma had linger enough for us to detect.
As you can tell, we delight in observing and experiencing Gods creation. This place is real but you need to pay attention to be safe. Just like our ancestors. Iglesia is coming this weekend. Jennifer is working diligently cleaning. Today it was the chapel and the cabins.I have been working on grass control, sprayed poison oak and cut up some oak for the BBQ's.

Day for tractors

Emmit Bolt came down this morning. He is a blade hand by day. Father of 2 boys and a really nice guy. He started by fixing the seat on the John Deere Tractor. It had gotten bent with a previous attachment and operator error.

We had just installed the drive shaft and had checked it for length. After lubing the zerk fittings. I had him give it a test run so he could tell me of any idiosyncrasy it might have. That way if anything adverse happened,  he could tell me about that as well...

Here is Emmit heading east along our north fence line. Flail was just working fine. Grasses seemed ready for cutting. We then switched tractors and He started cutting the pad for the play structure while I got acquainted with the new attachment to this tractor. I made some laps around our big field, around the orchard and below the house.Made some good progress. He finished cutting the pad to sub grade, That is a big step toward getting the structure installed. We finished the day cutting up the oak branches we had pulled from the creek last weekend with the ACTS group assistance.
You can see him finishing off the pad while I work the grasses in this picture. He is a hard worker. He left for San Martin at 7 PM . Full Day, good day. Another step in making the camp presentable and fun.
Another day Dancing with the King.

Ridge with a view

Sunday we needed to do something different. So we headed down to Kavanaugh Creek then up the far side toward the ridge. We had heard that that the south side of the property was fenced. Sure enough we did find the fence. It would not hold a cow in or out, but it has been fenced.
Here is the head registrar just down hill of the property line/ fence. Jennifer was pretty sporting to hike across this hill side. Fairly steep and overgrown.

Here is a view of the caretakers unit as seen from the south, with the west property line in the trees to the left of the house. The open field in the top left is our neighbors property. We found surveyors flagging, possible in line with the south west property corner and running diagonal down the hill to the N.E.Might be fun to cut some trails along the hill. Getting off the hill was a bit of a challenge with the heavy brush and poison oak patches, which we negotiated with sufficient care as to not get the rash. More to explore, adventures ahead.

Game Camera

Here are a couple of picture from the game camera.
Incoming
Now if I can just get him to look at the camera
What was that?
Jennifer and I saw his tracks about 2 weeks ago as we placed the camera in the creek. We thought it was the large bob cat we saw back in September. I have changed my mind on that one.

Acts home schooling group

This weekend we hosted the ACTS group. They have been coming to Whisper Canyon for many years. Fun to hear some of their stories
Saturday evening they sang songs and did some skits. Some by family group, some by gender. I joined them and played my Cajon drum along with them.
a little team Frisbee competition . One of the boys ran the weed eater for 3 plus hours to get the field in shape.
I heard no complaining as the boys took care of the dishes.

Sunday was a time of worship with music. The some solar system anomalies were explained  buy Russ McGlenn a creation science teacher. He works a lot with home schoolers.Jennifer and I learned some new things
The word Blessed seems over used and trite most of the time but Jennifer and I were blessed by the time we spent with then. It was a bit of a retreat for us even as we work at the camp. Mikhail came in on Thursday PM and made Friday a work day.

He first helped install the 2 poles for the new zip line. Then rebuilt the water valve manifold near the well. The gate valves would not shut off anymore. After lunch he added lights and an outlet to the water heater room. We can now see and run a shop vac to clean it up. On Saturday we hauled 5/6 oak limbs out of the creek behind the chapel. All things that were high on my to do list. Work and worship, It was a good weekend.
